The Japan Football Association has proposed using Miyagi Stadium as one of five venues to host the Women's Under-20 World Cup this summer, JFA vice president Kozo Tashima said Monday.
In the plan submitted to soccer's world governing body FIFA, Tokyo's National Stadium, Komaba Stadium in Saitama, Niigata City Athletics Stadium and Kobe Universiade Stadium would also host matches at the tournament. The association last month decided at a board meeting to use Miyagi Stadium to aid the reconstruction effort in the area that was badly hit by last year's earthquake and tsunami disaster. - http://www.japantimes.co.jp/
