Omiya Ardija Vs Nagoya Grampus Eight football match preview

Nagoya players, as we said in the previous round have found their play style; this time they defeated Niigata, which improved their tournament position and moved them up to the 7th place. Nagoya players could struggle for the place in the top 5; therefore they should not have plans to give up the match to Omya on home ground today.

Omya has been smashed on home ground by Kawasaki with 5:0 score and has placed at the 11th place of the tournament list with 13 points; if the team does not improve the quality of play it might loose this position too. In the last 5 rounds the hosts have won 3, drawn 1 and lost just 1 match. As for guests, in the last 5 rounds they have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2 matches.

Gotze to earn €4.6m per year while Dortmund close in on Kagawa extension - report

The 19-year-old signed a deal until 2016 and will receive a lucrative pay rise while the Japan star is set to sign a new contract with the German champions

Mario-Goetze-1.jpg (320×240)

Borussia Dortmund are seriously committed to retaining their stars, and according to Bild, have made Mario Gotze their highest-paid player.

On Tuesday, Gotze signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain with the Ruhr side until 2016, and now it is alleged that the Germany international will receive wages in the amount of €4.6 million per year.

The value exceeds any of his team-mates, and is a substantial increase over his previous deal, which amounted to approximately €1m per annum.

Having tied down Gotze, Dortmund are now determined to reach a new deal with Shinji Kagawa. The Japan international's contract is set to expire in 2013, and the player will reportedly extend his stay in the next few days.

Dortmund have been keen to tie down their stars, with Gotze, Neven Subotic, Mats Hummels, Lukasz Piszczek and Sven Bender under contract until 2014 or later.

Marco Reus, who will be a BVB player on July 1, has also committed his long-term future to the club, having penned a deal to 2017.

Montedio Yamagata vs Ventforet Kofu match preview

Kofu is at the 13th place and is hosting one of the outsiders of the tournament on home ground. Kofu has gained just 6 points in the last 7 rounds; Yagamata has gained 4, so the winners 3 points might be vital. Montedio Yamagata is one of the outsiders of the tournament and is at the 17th place with 4 points. This team has passed too many goals in the own sheet and it will be very hard to eliminate this with such performance. Yagamata has lost with minor difference scores in the last 2 rounds and has more worsened its condition.

venforet+vs+frontale.jpg (496×399)

Kofu has not less passed goals in the own sheet; during 7 rounds Kofu has scored 7 and passed11 goals. Yagamata players have scored the less 4 goals in the rival’s sheet and passed 12 in their own. Out of the 4 home ground matches the hosts have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 1 match. The guests have lost all 3 matches on away ground, so Kofu has real chance to gain 3 points.

Besiktas vs Atletico de Madrid English Liga match preview

Besiktas have won just three times in 14 games against Spanish sides, all of which came on home soil. (W3 D3 L9) The Black Eagles last reached the quarter-finals of this competition in 2002/03, where they lost to Lazio. Besiktas are not enjoying their finest spell of form, having only won twice in their last 11 fixtures in all competitions.

Atletico Madrid's only defeat against Super Lig opposition was a 1-0 loss to Ankaragucu in the second leg of a 1999/00 UEFA Cup first round tie. Los Colchoneros have only been defeated on the road once in their last eight European games. Udinese earned a 2-0 win at Stadio Friuli in this year's Europa League group stage. Radamel Falcao needs just two more goals to match current leading goalscorer, the eliminated Matias Suarez. The Colombian also has one less strike than Schalke's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who still remains in the tournament.

Hiroshima Sanfrecce vs Urawa Red Diamond match preview

Hiroshima have lost plenty of talent in the past year - Tadanari Lee, Tomoaki Makino and coach Petrovic, to name just three key parts of their puzzle. They will struggle in 2012. Conversely, after two years of late survival in J1, Urawa are looking good for a new start - ironically with Makino in the side, and coached by Petrovic! The return of Yuki Abe - with something to prove to Urawa fans and others, bodes well for the team in 2012.

If all the parts are fit and clicking into place expect Urawa to take out the home team in style and sprint out of the blocks for the new season. Abe is ecpected to be employed as the lynchpin in a three-man defence, and is the right man for the job. A fluid 3-5-2 could be the way for Urawa this season and, if it works, it will be a beautiful thing to watch.

Reysol capture Xerox Super Cup

J. League champion Kashiwa Reysol handed newly promoted FC Tokyo a reality check ahead of the new season with a 2-1 win in the Xerox Super Cup on Saturday.

http://www.matchhighlight.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/kashiwareysolceleb.jpg

Tokyo went into the curtain-raising match at National Stadium full of confidence after winning its first-ever Emperor's Cup on New Year's Day to add to last season's J2 title, but an opening goal against the run of play from Jorge Wagner and a penalty from Leandro Domingues gave Kashiwa a two-goal halftime lead.

Ariajasuru Hasegawa gave the capital city side a glimmer of hope when he pulled one back in the 65th minute, but it was not enough to prevent Reysol from laying down a marker ahead of the opening day of the new league season next Saturday. Kashiwa now heads to Thailand to play Buriram United on Wednesday in the opening fixture of its debut Asian Champions League campaign, and Nelsinho is keen to make an impression.

Tokyo created several chances in a dominant start to the match, but Reysol turned things completely on their head in the 26th minute. Wagner picked up the ball in the center circle before charging deep into opposition territory, and with Tokyo's defenders standing off, the Brazilian unleashed a left-foot howitzer that flew past Hitoshi Shiota into the bottom corner.

Wagner was again involved minutes before halftime when he headed a Leandro free kick against the post, and the ensuing melee ended with Masato Morishige upending Hideaki Kitajima and the referee pointing to the spot. Leandro hit his penalty high beyond Shiota, and the Tokyo players went into the interval scratching their heads and two goals down.

Tokyo's fortunes changed when Hasegawa broke through on goal midway through the second half, heading in the rebound after Reysol goalkeeper Takanori Sugeno had saved his initial shot. But the threat of a Reysol counterattack was ever present, and Leandro was unlucky not to add a third when he hit the post in injury time. - http://www.japantimes.co.jp/

Korean Football News 12BET Update 12/23

South Korea announce Choi Kang-Hee as new manager

The announcement comes just two weeks after the federation sacked former manager Cho Kwang-Rae following the country's shock loss to Lebanon in World Cup qualifying

The Korean Football Association (KFA) ended days of speculation in their Wednesday announcement of Jeonbuk Motors manager Choi Kang-Hee's appointment as new South Korea coach.

Kang-Hee replaces Cho Kwang-Rae, who was fired in early December after South Korea's stunning 2-1 loss to Lebanon in the third round of World Cup qualifying for Asia. The result meant that South Korea will have to beat Kuwait in their final match of the round in order to advance to the fourth and final group stage.

"We looked at several options," said KFA technical committee head Hwangbo Kwan.

"But since the Kuwait match is only three months away we had to pick Choi Kang-Hee, who can adapt to the current team right away."

Kang-Hee led Jeonbuk to the club's second K-League championship, in addition an appearance in the Asian Champions League finals in which they lost on penalties to Qatari side Al Sadd.

"He was always the first option for our technical commitee," elaborated Kwan in his statement to reporters.

"He was also optimistic about the opportunity, and Jeonbuk has allowed him to join the NT."

Kang-Hee is a veteran of Korean football, both as a manager and as a player. Between 1988 and 1992 he earned 40 caps for their national team and has managed Jeonbuk since 2005, leading the club to two K-League titles and an ACL title in 2006.

South Korea sit first in Asia's Group B with ten points, but a loss to Kuwait and a Lebanon draw or win over UAE on February 29 would knock the Taeguk Warriors out of contention for a World Cup 2014 appearance. - http://www.goal.com
