Besiktas vs Atletico de Madrid English Liga match preview

Besiktas have won just three times in 14 games against Spanish sides, all of which came on home soil. (W3 D3 L9) The Black Eagles last reached the quarter-finals of this competition in 2002/03, where they lost to Lazio. Besiktas are not enjoying their finest spell of form, having only won twice in their last 11 fixtures in all competitions.

Atletico Madrid's only defeat against Super Lig opposition was a 1-0 loss to Ankaragucu in the second leg of a 1999/00 UEFA Cup first round tie. Los Colchoneros have only been defeated on the road once in their last eight European games. Udinese earned a 2-0 win at Stadio Friuli in this year's Europa League group stage. Radamel Falcao needs just two more goals to match current leading goalscorer, the eliminated Matias Suarez. The Colombian also has one less strike than Schalke's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who still remains in the tournament.

Japan J-League news 12BET update 1/04

Defender Konno set to join Gamba

Japan international defender Yasuyuki Konno, who helped promoted FC Tokyo win the Emperor's Cup on Sunday, will rejoin former his J. League club Gamba Osaka, sources told Kyodo News.

The versatile 28-year-old, the only player to play the entirety of every game under national team coach Alberto Zaccheroni, has agreed to terms and Gamba is set to announce a multiyear deal in the coming days.

Konno, who scored in Tokyo's 4-2 win over Kyoto Sanga in the Emperor's Cup final, made his pro debut for Consadole Sapporo in 2001 before moving to Tokyo in 2004, when the Gasmen won their first major trophy in the Nabisco Cup.

He played a pivotal role in helping Tokyo last year win promotion back to the top flight following a surprise relegation in 2010.

The Athens Olympian made his senior national team debut in 2005. He was part of the Japan squad that reached the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time on foreign turf at the 2010 finals in South Africa and won the Asian Cup last year in Qatar for a record fourth time. - http://www.japantimes.co.jp

Oita Trinita  is a J. League Division 2 team. The team name Trinita can be considered either a combination of the English word trinity and Ōita, or the Italian word trinità. The dual meaning expresses the will of the citizens, companies, and local governments to support the team. The team's home town is Ōita city, but the club draws support from Beppu, Saiki and the entire Ōita Prefecture. Its home ground is Kyushu Oil Dome also called "Big Eye" and practices at the adjacent football and rugby field, River Park Inukai, and Ōita City Public Ground.

Ehime FC in Matsuyama, Ehime has since joined J.League, however, thereby nullifying Vortis' claim to represent all of Shikoku.
