Fukuoka Win Again to Keep the Dream Alive!
Fukuoka have had a difficult year back in J1 but will remember this weekend for a long time to come: their first away win, first J1 double and first time to win two in a row this season! The challenge of J1 survival remains extremely daunting but the progress is real and the fans still have plenty to cheer with their team playing with such commitment to make up the lost ground. Elsewhere in J1, both the title and relegation battles are shifting by the week with Gamba and Kashiwa this time reopening a gap at the top and both Urawa and Kofu slipping more deeply into trouble.
Avispa Fukuoka defied the form in a match that hosts Omiya Ardija also desperately wanted to win to record an impressive 2-0 victory at the NACK5 Stadium Omiya. Fukuoka also defeated Omiya one-nil in July and, last week, kept hope alive with an encouraging victory over Hiroshima. For Omiya, though, with only one loss in their previous six J1 games, the result was a big disappointment after last week's magnificent victory in Kashiwa and also a missed opportunity to pull away from their still precarious position so close to the relegation zone.http://www.j-league.or.jp
